Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch #3053 Statement on Proposed Data Center Development in Martindale-Brightwood Neighborhood
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — March 9, 2026 —The Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch #3053 wishes to clarify our position regarding the proposed data center development in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood.
The Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch #3053 stands with the residents and leadership of the Martindale-Brightwood community in their opposition to the proposed data center development at 2505 North Sherman Drive. Martindale-Brightwood is one of Indianapolis’ oldest historic Black neighborhoods, and residents have already endured decades of industrial and environmental burdens. We respect the community’s voice and stand with them as they advocate for the future of their neighborhood.
